Goals for the Chamber

  • Promote & Advertise the businesses in this community
  • Facilitate communication and awareness among our community members
  • Provide valuable & accurate information about our businesses & community activities

We accomplished most of our goals in 2007:

  • Increased our membership to a record high!
  • Partnered with the City of Carnation on:

a.      The Storefront Studio Project:  businesses worked with student architects at the University of Washington on rendering individual design preferences.  This was funded by the City.

b.      The Economic Development Plan for Carnation:  our Executive Committee reviewed the proposed Plan and met with City Council to discuss priorities for the Chamber.

c.      Christmas Street Lighting:  The Chamber and member businesses contributed to our new street lighting

  • Promotion:  We had Chamber ads in mailings and brochures for the Evergreen Classic.  All member businesses were listed.
  • Festival Support:  The Chamber sponsored the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival.
  • Organizational structure:  We began executive committee meetings to handle administration of the Chamber.  In this way we will be able to free up our general meetings for networking and speakers.

Goals for 2008:  in addition to our regular activities we will

  • Add new resident memberships and continue to build our business membership
  • Begin implementation of our economic development plan
  • Review and Revise our by-laws
  • Schedule regular speakers and networking opportunities
  • Create a brochure
